Back in the late 1980s, Stockport band Rig, were about to happen, so approached Joe Bloggs for sponsorship…
“We were skint and after some free clobber and Joe Bloggs kindly obliged on condition of a photo session (that we did ourselves) and a thank you on one of our single sleeves, I seem to recall” says Rig’s Darren Jones, who has provided the full fashion shoot photos of Joe Bloggs writ large…

Some Joe Bloggs Memories….
“Up north in the late 80’s you just weren’t cool if you didn’t have some Joe Bloggs jeans with 25″ bottoms on them. Still have mine in the attic.” Baz
“Only the younger kids that jumped on the bandwagon and started going to the Hacienda when they lived in Surrey or somewhere thought Joe Bloggs was cool though. Shops like Oasis owned by the Mondays first manager Phil Saxe in the underground market were selling flares long before Bloggs was heard of. I had a pair of 24″ bottoms in 1985, because it was a fashion among dressers for a few months back then. Never saw anyone but Northerners wearing them though.” grizcuz
