The Bury New Road project is linking up with Salford City’s official charity, Foundation ‘92, and inviting people to a special heritage afternoon at the Community Hub within the Moor Lane ground.
Salford City has opened the Hub as a community drop-in every Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm to 6pm where there is free food and drinks available, plus lots of activities.
The Bury New Road Heritage afternoon is taking place next Wednesday 15th March between 3pm and 6pm, and there will also be a chance of getting free tickets for the Doncaster Rovers home game on Saturday 18th March.
“We’re asking people to come along and either tell us their experiences of Salford City FC, or any memories of Bury New Road and its environment” says Bury New Road project co-ordinator, Stephen Kingston “It could be the memory of a great match, past or present, something that happened on Kersal Moor, or recollections of life in the area. We’re open to anything!”
Salfordian film-maker, Rafe Conn, will be along to record people’s memories or experiences which will then be preserved on the Bury New Road website archive and social media channels.
The afternoon is free to attend – people can just turn up, using the Moor Lane entrance…
